Short Synopsis

In The Head, The Heart, and The Heir, Princess Elizabeth (known as Alex) has spent twelve years of her young life hidden to protect her from her rotten shrew of a grandfather, who happened to be the reigning King of Warren. Now, she is back at the castle with her father, King.

As the Princess, she is, of course, looking for a husband. As the story unfolds, she becomes close to her childhood friend, the Crown Prince of Datten. They have a tight bond, but neither is sure if their friendship should become more.

Evil family members try to put a damper on the Kingdom, forcing Alex and those closest to her to fight to protect their home. Through all of this, Alex tries to control her uncontrolled magical powers.

My Thoughts

The Head, The Heart, and The Heir is a story of magic, kingdoms, family, love, and hate.

The characters are a delightful mix of good and evil. Alex is headstrong and brave. She dives right into the messiness of standing up for her Kingdom, including physically fighting to protect it. She wears her heart on her sleeve as she tries to figure out which of her love interests is the one. The Crown Prince of Datten is as likable as Alex. He has a soft side and a tough side as he vies for Alex’s hand and protects the Kingdom.

This is such a fun story! The family relationships are crazy. There’s love. There’s hate. Secrets come out of the woodwork, shedding light on present issues. The magical aspects of the story are exciting. Alex’s magic is strong and not under her control as she hasn’t been taught how to control it yet. The sorcerers in her family bring both good and evil to the forefront.

The Head, The Heart, and The Heir is a fight amongst family members. Who will come out ahead?

Alex’s love life is another aspect of the story. She has several suitors and is lucky that her father is letting her choose her husband because there are some doozies in the mix.

Last but not least, check out the cover. Gorgeous! I am spellbound by it and would beeline straight to it in a bookstore. Obviously, I am a cover lover, and this one does it for me. The color grabs my attention, but the head with a scene in it kicks it into high gear as an eye stopper. Wow!

Thank you to the author, Alice Hanov, for providing this ebook for me to read and review. If you haven’t checked out her social media pages, I suggest you do. She is a hoot!
