The Father’s Disappearance introduces the reader to a new mystery series by Laura Greene. The main character is a snarky woman in her late twenties who is ready to begin her life after six years of college. As is common in life, plans change. She grudgingly goes to Scotland to look for a father that has been absent for most of her life after he has seemingly disappeared. Hence, the title The Father’s Disappearance. I like Melody’s grit and gumption as she figures out she is much like her father in some ways. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and puts herself in odd circumstances to find him. The mystery is just beginning in this short story that ends with a cliffhanger. I am curious to see where Melody’s adventure takes her in the next book.
