The Curse of Braddock Mansion is a twist to the typical old mansion story. Natalie and her husband, Evan, are living in a hotel while looking for a new home. Natalie feels she’s found the perfect place when she stumbles across Braddock Mansion, especially with the historical significance that comes with it. A significance that matches Evan’s job and interests.
Living there brings a whole different perspective to her life. The family is odd, the house and grounds seem to change radically from day to day, and the mansion itself seems to play tricks on Natalie. She is determined to figure out what is going on even if she has to be a bit sneaky and nose around a little.
The Curse of Braddock Mansion was a welcome breath of fresh air. The story line was unique and piqued my interest from the get go. Who were these people and what the heck was going on with their home? I was a bit distressed by Natalie’s lack of nervousness when the mansion changed radically from time to time. Who wouldn’t be more concerned if such occurrences happened around them? I guess the answer to that is Natalie.
The Curse of Braddock Mansion is the first Augustine Pierce book I’ve read. It was mysterious and took my mind in a direction it hadn’t planned on venturing to in this story. Creative and exciting for sure. If you enjoy a bit of horror with your mystery, this is the book for you!
