The Christmas Bookshop

Short Synopsis

The Christmas Bookshop is about a rather self-centered twenty-something who isn’t lighting any fires in her life. When Carmen loses her job, she lives with her perfect sister and her bratty nieces & nephew. She starts a job at a cluttered, filthy bookshop thanks to her sister’s ties to the community with an expectation that she will make it profitable.

My Thoughts

The Christmas Bookshop is a delightful read! Carmen, the main character, makes so much progress throughout this story. It is fun watching her grow and change.

The bookshop is a big part of this book. The building is unique, almost mystical. I love the thought of this big ole building full of books and antiques. Living in the same building as your bookshop would be a dream come true. Carmen is allowed to work her magic, digging through and organizing the monstrous book collection. How fun would that be?

Beyond the bookstore, Carmen’s relationships with her family and friends are always at the forefront. She manages to find a couple of love interests as well.

The Christmas Bookshop is a definite plus in my book. Grab your blanket, cocoa, and a copy of this book, and enjoy your holiday.
