Sam, whose family has their issues, takes on a case defending the suspect of the Golden Lakes Killer, Mark Mason.
Sam depends on help from her team & Mark’s brother who is rough around the edges.
Is Mark the Golden Lakes Killer? This story continues with the next in the series so that answer is up in the air for now.
My Thoughts
I am enthralled with the main character. Sam is smart & confident in the courtroom & in life. She doesn’t give up easily either.
The case is intriguing. Some oddities about it make you think twice about who the killer could be.
I’m curious as to why Sam’s family & family history are part of this story. Will it somehow intertwine with this case or is it just to show where she comes from & the issues that have been handed down to her & her siblings?
I realize this is Book 1, so the story will continue, but I prefer a bigger book with the full story in it. Even with a series, I enjoy longer books. Short ones just aren’t enough for me. If you don’t mind thrillers that come in a series of short stories, this is a great read for you!
