Maddie the Baddie
Sʜᴏᴿᴛ Sʏɴᴏᴘsɪs
Maddie the Baddie takes us on Maddie‘s escapades as she attempts to kidnap senior citizens who have committed a minor crime during their lifetime. She earns money for this because Sir Charles and this fine city don’t want to give senior citizens their benefits, so he has cooked up a ridiculous plan to save money.

As an adult, Maddie the Baddie was a little over the top for me with all of the wordplay, but still fun to read. Throughout the story are words like A-C-Tea-C and Tea-Ner-Turner. The coffee shop kept pounding out words like this to draw in the elderly crowd as a part of Sir Charles’ plan.
I do think that children would enjoy the extreme silliness that this story partakes in. It is meant to be fun.
Cheddar George is my favorite character. He is a grandpa who is 90-11. He won’t say 101. He loves cheese and rides a dolled-up scooter with a sidecar for his great-granddaughter.
Maddie the Baddie is a book you need to jump into knowing that it is full of clever wordplay and scenarios that don’t make sense in real life. It is written for children, but I still enjoyed reading it. I feel it would be a fun book to read together with your child. You will laugh at all the crazy escapades the characters end up in.
