Dial A for Aunties is comparable to a fox in a hen house, except in this case, it is a good thing. Feathers fly in every direction and are difficult to clean up! Murder is difficult to clean up too. fox in a hen house, except in this case, it is a good thing. Feathers fly in every direction and are difficult to clean up! Murder is difficult to clean up too.

Short Synopsis

Meddy’s Mom and Aunties are always there for each other. They live near each other, their businesses are next to each other, and they work together in the wedding industry.

Although Meddy’s mother means well, she sets them all up for more than any of them bargained for. A blind date, a high society wedding, a blast from the past, and a murder ensue.

My Thoughts

Dial A for Aunties was a stunning blend of humor & Chinese-Indonesian culture, which I knew nothing about. Meddy’s Aunties, her mother, and her are a team in every aspect of their lives.

The Aunties have such distinctive personalities. They speak in a mixture of languages and often bungle up the English language which is a laugh and a half! They have a pecking order and bicker as many siblings do. Meddy certainly has her hands full!

The whole storyline seems unbelievable, yet Jesse Sutanto makes it plausible with her exquisite writing style. I laughed out loud more than once. It is a fun read for sure!
