Blood Verdict begins with a grisly murder and leads to an in-depth investigation that points in an unexpected direction. Sarah and her trusted confidants are taken on a dangerous journey to figure out who is behind the disappearance and murder of children in their community. Those on the case are not afraid to put themselves in the line of fire to capture the bad guys.
In the midst of a child’s murder, other strange things begin to happen. Are these events related or random? Sarah finds it hard to trust others, as it seems that she’s being purposely steered away from this case. This makes her think some of her co-workers might be dirty and she’s going to find out. Even her partner Lee starts to act odd. What in the heck is going on? Who can she trust?
This book will knock your socks off with its crazy adventures! Sarah is one heck of a tough cookie who isn’t afraid of chasing down the bad guys. She doesn’t let the fact that she’s a prosecutor stop her from putting herself into harm’s way without a second thought. Ms. Cross is not always by the book and doesn’t really care as long as it helps the case. She surrounds herself with the help she needs, which might just be in an unofficial capacity.
I enjoyed reading Blood Verdict. The characters’ faults made them realistic, although some of the things that happened would put a real person down for quite a while. Sarah and her sidekicks just kept moving forward on their case. This also makes the book fun to read, just like when the same thing happens in movies. It makes it more exciting! Blood Verdict is full of action, has strong female characters, and a fitting ending.
