Queen Raven has many questions about herself. She doesn’t know why she was chosen to be queen. She doesn’t know who her parents are. She doesn’t know where her magic came from.
In this story, she veers forward, learning more than she bargained for.
A Kingdom of Flame and Fury is 646 pages and 33 chapters of a hot, intense spine-tingling fantasy. It is definitely for mature readers and does have a warning, so beware.
I absolutely love this book! It is one of my top reads of 2022 so far. The romance is dark, but it has a fantastic storyline. It is one of those books you struggle to accomplish your daily activities!
The characters are all well thought out. Queen Raven is who the story centers around. She comes from the unknown and has the attention of two men throughout the story. That sounds randy, but as you read it, it is evident that she is confused and unsure of what to do. It isn’t that she is a filthy skank. She is tenacious and speaks her mind, yet lacks confidence and is hurt easily. She doesn’t behave like any queen I know of, which made her all the more interesting.
Cade and Zeke are the two men in Queen Raven’s life. Cade has been by her side for fifteen years, teaching her and guiding her as she learned how to be a queen. Zeke recently barged into her life, though the attachment is immediate. They are both intriguing characters, and there are plenty of chances to love and hate them.
A Kingdom of Flame and Fury includes magic that takes the story to another level. Queen Raven transforms into others to control the elements. I was excited to find out where her magic came from. But will she find out who she is?
I am thrilled that this is a quartet, but I want to continue it RIGHT NOW! This will be a tough one to wait for. I like the note this one ended on, but I want to know what happens next. I just checked, and the next book, A Kingdom of Frost and Fear, comes out early in December. Yahoo! That means I don’t have too long to wait. So do yourself a favor and read A Kingdom of Flame and Fury now, so you are ready for the next one when it releases.
Last but not least, both book covers are stunning. I am a big cover snob, and these are both in my wheelhouse. Beautiful doesn’t do them justice.
Thank you to R&R Book Tours, the author, and the publisher for providing this book for me to read and review.
