The Shadows begins with Paul’s mom falls down the stairs and is put in a facility, he decides it is time to make a trip home. He hasn’t been back since he left for college. A strange murder lingers in this town. What does it have to do with Paul and his mother?
The Shadows had just the right amount of creepiness to it. Blending the past into the present kept me guessing throughout the whole story. I wasn’t able to figure the mystery out before I read it.
There were a couple of twists and turns that really surprised me. I found the plot exciting and the characters odd.
I would consider The Shadows to be more creepy than scary, although it involves murder. If you veer away from stories like this, you will probably be fine with this one. Give it a try. If it proves to be too much, pass it to a fellow reader.
