In Tyrant’s Rise, Young adult twins travel to their deceased father’s cabin deep in the wilderness. Their uncle leaves them with a warning to be inside before sunset and leave if anything strange occurs. Since their father was obsessed with witches and such, they are leary but unbelieving. Are there creatures in the forest? Are their father’s beliefs real?

Tyrant’s Rise is a tremendously well-written dive into darkness. Somehow, Bella Dean made this horror story realistic.

The twins are good people, relatable and realistic. There is comradery between them, including humor. They both suffered after losing their father, especially since they hadn’t seen him in many years due to his crazy obsession.

It isn’t easy to describe how amazing this story is. I couldn’t put it down! When it ended with a cliffhanger, I was both excited and disappointed: happy that the story would continue, but sad that I had to wait to read it.

Witches, strange creatures, seeing surroundings mysteriously changing, and so much more as the mysterious area in and around the cabin is explored.

I won’t give anything else away. Just do yourself a favor and snatch up Tyrant’s Rise right now. It is a quick read that will give you a good scare and have you peeking out of your covers in fear.
