Maggie is happy in her marriage with Nate. She has a beautiful home, a good job, a dog, a handsome husband, and two fantastic step-children. However, her world is turned on end when she sees a picture of Nate and an unknown woman in their convertible, taken by a speed trap camera. How will she handle this?
The story goes on with Maggie’s life full of ups and downs as she processes what has happened and discovers what she needs in life.

Although I liked the story, I didn’t connect with the characters. I found Nate to be an ass and wanted to root for Maggie, but she was not the most discerning person either. After being lied to by Nate and others close to her, she ends up in a lie herself.
After Nate, in a confused and sad state, Maggie engages in other relationships as a bit of a rebound. Unfortunately, she manages to get hurt again and hurt others during this attempt to bounce back to normal.
Love the Way They Lie is a good read, filled with angst and lies. The characters do have good characteristics but overall come across as flawed. However, one delightful character throughout the book is Maggie’s dog. It will put a smile on your face for sure!
