Five Total Strangers

I checked out Five Total Strangers from my local library. I told myself I didn’t have time to squeeze this book in, but I decided I couldn’t pass it up.

Short Synopsis

Five Total Strangers ride together through a monstrous snowstorm, trying to make it home for Christmas. The ride is disastrous from beginning to end.

My Thoughts

I love reading YA books! My son likes to tease me as he reads his academic texts. This is a great YA book. As an adult, I noticed a couple of oddities in the story. My rating excuses them and focuses on it being a young adult book.

The strange man in the yellow hat doesn’t have a purpose. He just randomly shows up where the five teens are. Realistically, I don’t think this group would have been able to drive through a storm of this magnitude. I realize they were in an unpopulated area, but I’d think they would have a chance to pull off somewhere to wait out the storm. Heck, they could’ve waited for the police at the pileup accident. I also wondered how a particular person ended up in the car.

On the positive side, it is a quick read that keeps you guessing. Since they are strangers, there is no trust amongst them once the problems begin. This excels the mystery.

Overall, Five Perfect Strangers takes you on a crazy ride.
