In Fool’s Gold, twelve-year-old Lottie Baxter lives with her grandparents & her great-grandpa, Cheddar George.

Lottie saves a pencil case full of your typical items from the trash. Little did she know of the magical adventure they would bring to her life.

Timothy Pinkerman, a self-centered businessman, messes up the entire town in his plot to become rich. With some crafty help, Lottie works towards saving her town.

I think this book is cleverly written and a real kick to read. It is nonsensical at times which makes it magical in my eyes.

Cheddar George is a character! His antics made me chuckle more than once. I like Lottie quite a bit too. She is spunky yet down to earth and took all of the weird happenings in stride.

The atmosphere of Fool’s Gold is entertaining! It kept my attention with all the craziness happening and lively wording. Words such as “Trez-Beans, Amazeballs, donkey-walloper, and tickety-boo” threw in some extra humor throughout the entire story.

Youth or adult, Fool’s Gold is a quick read which takes you on a trip to the place where magic and laughter live.

I see Fool’s Gold as a perfect book to read nightly with your kids. Reading and laughter are good for the soul!
