I waited a long time to get this ebook from the library. When I finally got it, I put aside everything else & got right at it! I’ll tell you what, it was worth the wait!

Synopsis

Local Woman Missing tells the story from several points of view, alternating between Kate, Meredith, and Leo. The setting switches back and forth between an incident that happened many years ago and the present time. Eleven years ago, there was a murder, a suicide, and the disappearance of a six-year-old girl.

The past never stays in the past, and it didn’t in Local Woman Missing. A teen moves back into her childhood home after spending years in a basement after being kidnapped. She can’t remember her parents, brother, or anything about her life before the kidnapping. From there, the story alternates between the past and the present to tell the story of what happened.

My Thoughts

Local Woman Missing was a heck of a thriller! I loved hearing the story from three different characters. Sometimes it is confusing when books switch back and forth from the past to the present. This one wasn’t like that. It just worked!

There were some things in the book that weren’t plausible, but that is what can make fiction enjoyable. This story kept me on my toes trying to figure out what happened to the three victims. If you like psychological thrillers and don’t nit-pick fictional books for being unbelievable, this is a book for you.
